Glossary

Holistic approach

Looking at a person’s needs beyond one area of the face or a single symptom.

A broader context helps shape the session

Wellbeing, daily habits, previous experiences and comfort may influence the plan.

This does not mean diagnosing outside professional competence.

Holistic does not mean without limits

Responsible care respects contraindications and recommends a doctor or another specialist when needed.

It is most useful to understand “Holistic approach” in the context of wellbeing, safety and the purpose of the visit. The term alone does not decide which technique to use or what response to expect.

What responsible whole person care means

The practitioner gathers information relevant to safety and comfort without assigning a hidden cause to every symptom.

When a concern falls outside treatment scope, she clearly recommends appropriate advice.
